For many authors, a successful book tour might feel like a pipe dream. You are in constant competition with other, more popular, better-selling authors for a limited number of event slots at popular indie bookstores, universities, and arts organizations. If those places don't respond to your emails, what other options do you have?
In this seminar, author and former music industry booking agent Tucker Leighty-Phillips will discuss alternatives to the traditional book tour, using do-it-yourself practices and grassroots community engagement. The workshop will provide practical advice for routing and booking tour dates, engaging local communities, and building a network of grassroots artists that support and uplift one another long after your book tour ends.
What you will learn how to
How to route a DIY Book tour
How to find potential event hosts / promoters
How to drive attendance through community engagement
How to be cost-effective while organizing your tour

Each participant will come away with the skillset to begin organizing their own do-it-yourself book tour.
