In this generative writing workshop, we will embrace the creative and fertile energy of Beltane—a Pagan celebration of the transition into summer and a time of passion, transformation, and abundance. Through poetry readings, guided exercises, and ritual-inspired prompts, we will explore ways to cultivate new creative energy and deepen our connection to our writing practice. All are welcome.
Beltane is a time of fire, fertility, and transition—a threshold between spring and summer where creative energy runs wild and possibilities abound. In this three-hour generative writing workshop, we will draw on poetry, mythology, and ritual-inspired exercises to explore themes of passion, transformation, and artistic abundance.
Taking inspiration from Octavia Butler’s affirmations, Sylvia Plath’s intense nature poetry, and the lush imagery of poets like Christina Rossetti and Walt Whitman, we will engage in writing prompts designed to ignite creative fire, release stagnation, and cultivate new artistic growth. Through guided freewrites, reflective discussions, and intuitive exercises, participants will deepen their connection to their creative selves and leave with fresh, inspired writing.
This workshop is open to writers of all levels who want to immerse themselves in a seasonal, sensory-rich approach to creativity. Whether you are nurturing a long-term project or seeking fresh inspiration, Beltane’s energy will help you trust your intuition, honor your process, and celebrate the magic of your artistic voice.
If you’re looking to reignite your creative spark, move past creative blocks, or set bold new intentions for your work, this workshop will help you plant the seeds for a flourishing creative future. You will leave feeling inspired for your boldest, most creatively fertile summer yet!
