About the Instructor
As college graduation approached, Laura Thomas lost her older brother. Everything fell apart. After moving to New Zealand and backpacking across Southeast Asia, Laura turned to theater to turn grief into healing. Her one-woman play, Who Am I Without You?, traveled the US to help groups make sense of the unthinkable. In 2019, Thomas released The Magic of Well-Being: A Modern Guide to Lasting Happiness, a widely-loved quick read that’s helped readers live better lives. For the last decade, Thomas has served as a ghostwriter, editor, and story doula with a passion for helping people discover their voice and tell their stories with confidence. With more than 200 books edited and 12 books written, Laura brings seasoned expertise in crafting compelling, authentic stories. Thomas hosts a 6-Week Interactive Book Writing Workshop—Sacred Stories—to help emerging authors discover the soul of their book, craft meaningful and authentic stories, and build a roadmap for their book-writing process. Applications are open for the next workshop starting March 2025. She is currently writing a book with her Zen teacher, a screenplay, a YA fantasy fiction series, and draft 32 (ugh!) of her memoir.
